Your year in dots

One dot per day. Filled dots are behind you, the yellow one is today, and every open dot is still yours.

What to do with the days you have left

A number like this can feel like pressure. Try reading it as room instead. Every open dot above is a day you haven't used yet, and a small thing done on most of them adds up to more than one big push in the last week.

  • Finish one thing. Pick a single goal you can still close out this year, then count the weekdays you have for it.
  • Look back before you look ahead. Our year-end reflection questions help you notice what this year taught you before you plan the next one.
  • Write to the person you'll be on January 1. A short letter to your future self takes ten minutes and gives you something to open when the count hits zero.
  • Plan next year's board. When you're ready, these vision board ideas can get you started.

Frequently asked questions

Does the count include today?

The big number counts the days after today, through December 31. Tick "Count today" to include today as well, which adds one day. Both are common, so if another site shows a number one higher or lower, this is usually why.

How are weeks left worked out?

Weeks left is the days left divided by 7, shown as whole weeks plus any extra days. Weekdays left counts every Monday to Friday after today, and weekend days counts every Saturday and Sunday. Holidays are not taken out, because they differ by country and employer.

Why is my count different from someone in another country?

The counter uses your device's own date and time zone. Someone where it's already tomorrow will see one day fewer until their midnight passes.

Is anything I enter saved or sent anywhere?

No. The counter runs entirely in your browser from your device clock. A date you pick for your own countdown stays on this page and is gone when you leave.
